Chatdok is proud to announce its participation as an official partner in CHAIN — the European Cardiovascular Health Data and AI Network, a pan-European initiative coordinated by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and co-funded by the European Union’s EU4Health programme.
Through ChatDok-Heart, Chatdok will contribute to the clinical validation and AI assessment of cardiovascular AI, supporting the transition from promising technology to real-world healthcare.
Chatdok is proud to announce its participation as an official partner in CHAIN — the European Cardiovascular Health Data and AI Network, a pan-European initiative coordinated by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and co-funded by the European Union’s EU4Health programme.
Launched at its kick-off meeting on 7–8 October 2026 in Sophia Antipolis, France, CHAIN brings together 53 partners across 20 countries to help accelerate the safe, effective and scalable adoption of artificial intelligence in cardiovascular and related non-communicable disease care.
For Chatdok, this collaboration represents an important opportunity to contribute to a shared European ambition: making healthcare AI more trustworthy, clinically relevant and beneficial to patients.
ChatDok-Heart: Advancing the Evidence for Cardiovascular AI
As part of CHAIN, ChatDok-Heart is one of the project's real-world use cases, with dedicated project funding supporting clinical validation and AI assessment.
Cardiovascular disease remains a major public-health challenge across Europe. AI has the potential to support earlier identification of risk, more personalised care and better-informed clinical decisions. However, translating this potential into clinical practice requires more than technological innovation. It requires robust evaluation, clinical expertise and evidence that solutions can be implemented safely and effectively in real healthcare settings.
Through its participation in CHAIN, Chatdok will contribute to this effort by supporting the assessment of ChatDok-Heart and generating evidence relevant to its clinical application and responsible implementation.
The focus is not simply on what AI can do, but on how it can support healthcare professionals and contribute to better care for patients.
Building Trust Through Collaboration
CHAIN addresses several barriers that can slow the adoption of healthcare AI, including fragmented health data, interoperability challenges, inconsistent evaluation approaches and the need for clear implementation and governance frameworks.
The initiative brings together clinical organisations, research institutions, technology providers, public authorities and other stakeholders to strengthen the European ecosystem for trustworthy AI.
Its work spans connected health-data infrastructure, AI discovery and evaluation, regulatory readiness, implementation support and real-world testing across six cardiovascular use cases.
For Chatdok, participating in this collaborative environment offers an opportunity to contribute its expertise while working alongside partners who share a commitment to responsible innovation and evidence-based healthcare.
Putting Patients at the Centre of Innovation
At Chatdok, we believe the value of healthcare AI should ultimately be measured by the difference it can make in people's lives.
Our participation in CHAIN reflects our commitment to advancing cardiovascular AI through clinical evaluation, collaboration and responsible implementation. By contributing to the assessment of ChatDok-Heart, we aim to support the evidence needed to understand how AI can be used appropriately in cardiovascular care.
The potential is significant: earlier insights into cardiovascular risk, more personalised and proactive approaches to care, and better support for clinicians. These are ambitions to be pursued through rigorous evaluation, with patient safety and clinical needs at the forefront.
Looking Ahead
We are grateful to the European Society of Cardiology, the CHAIN coordination team and all consortium partners for bringing together this ambitious European collaboration.
We look forward to working with the CHAIN community, sharing expertise and contributing to the collective effort to move trustworthy AI from validation towards real-world clinical use.
Because the ultimate goal is not AI for its own sake. It is better cardiovascular care and, ultimately, better outcomes for patients.
About CHAIN
CHAIN — the European Cardiovascular Health Data and AI Network — is a three-year European collaboration with €20 million in EU funding, coordinated by the European Society of Cardiology and co-funded by the European Union’s EU4Health programme under Grant Agreement No. 101314833. It brings together 53 partners from 20 countries to support the safe, effective and scalable adoption of AI in cardiovascular and related non-communicable disease care.
